Market Report Feb 3, 2014

Receipts were 106, including 57 packer cows, bred cows and pairs, 49 yearlings and calves. Packer cows were $4 to $8 higher. Packer bulls were $3 to $6 higher. Bred cows were steady and no test on pairs. Market on steers and heifers weighing 500# and under was steady to last week’s higher market. Feeder steers and heifers weighing over 500# were steady. We had a light run today due to ice and snow.But thank goodness for some moisture.

 Receipts were 1014, including 206 packer cows, bred cows and pairs, 808 yearlings and calves.  Packer cows were $2 to $4 higher. Packer bulls were $3 to $5 higher. Market on replacement cows and pairs were $50 to $100 higher. Market on steers and heifers weighing 500# and under was $3 to $5 higher. Feeder steers and heifers weighing over 500# were $2 to $3 higher.    The market was higher on all classes of cattle.

Receipts were 1818, including 288 packer cows, bred cows and pairs, 1530 yearlings and calves.  Packer cows were steady to $2 higher. Packer bulls were steady. Market on replacement cows and pairs was steady with a good demand. Market on steers and heifers weighing 500# and under was steady to last week’s higher market. Feeder steers and heifers weighing over 500# were steady to $2 higher. The market was steady to strong with bidding being very active.

Market Report for December 2, 2013

Receipts were 1273, including 305 packer cows, bred cows and pairs, 968 yearlings and calves.  Packer cows were $2 to $3 higher. Packer bulls were $1 to $3 higher. Market on replacement cows and pairs were steady on a light test. Market on steers and heifers weighing 500# and under was steady to last week’s market. Feeder steers and heifers weighing over 500# were steady. The 650-750# bulls were $8-$12 back from the steers. The calf and yearling market was not any higher nor any cheaper. We had a good demand on all classes of calves and yearlings.

15 Blk Cows: 3 to 5 yrs old, 6 to 8 months bred

9 Char Cows: 3 to 4 yrs old, 6 to 8 months bred. Bred to Angus bulls

5 Blk Heifers: 3 to 5 months bred.

12 Brangus Cows: 5 yrs old: 4 to 6 months bred

40 Blk Heifers: 5 to 6 months bred

9 Red WF Cows: 3 yrs old, 5 to 7 months bred. Bred to Brahma bull

25 Corriente Cows: 5-6 yrs old, with 10 calves on the ground. The rest are heavy bred.

8 Blk Cows: 2 yrs old, 7-8 months bred

2 Poll Hereford Bulls: 2 to 3 yrs old

2 Horned Hereford Bulls: 3 yrs old

1 Brangus Bull: 18 months old

17 Angus Bulls: 2 yrs old

11 Char Buls: 2 to 3 yrs old

1 Red Angus Bull: 2 yrs old

12 Blk Semi Bulls: 2 yrs old

All cows will be aged and pregnancy tested by a local veterinarian. We will be selling only cows that are long toothed and younger.  Any cows over long toothed will be sold at Monday’s sale.

All bulls will be fertility and tric tested before the sale.  These cattle can be viewed by

3:00 pm, Friday December 6, 2013.  All Bulls will be sold at the beginning of the sale.

Market Report for 11/4/2013

Receipts were 1508, including 250 packer cows, bred cows and pairs, 1258 yearlings and calves.  Shelly packer cows were $2 to $3 lower. The high yielding packer cows were steady.  Packer bulls were steady. Market on replacement and pairs were steady. Market on steers and heifers weighing 500# and under were steady. Feeder steers and heifers weighing 600# and over were steady.

The 650-750# bulls were $10-$15 back from the steers. The market was steady to strong compared to last week’s higher market.

Market on replacement cows and pairs were $50 to $100 higher with a good demand. Market on steers and heifers weighing 500# and under were $4 to $6 higher. The 500-600# steers were $3 to $5 higher. Feeder steers and heifers weighing 600# and over were $2 to $4 higher. The 650-750# bulls were $10-$15 back from the steers. The market was very active on all classes of cattle.
