March 28, 2016 Market Report

Receipts were 1102, including 169 packer cows, bred cows and pairs, 933 yearlings and calves. Packer cows were $2 to $3 higher. Packer bulls were $3 to $4 higher. The replacement bred cows and pairs were steady on a light test. Market on steers and heifers weighing 500# and under $2 to $5 lower on the new crop calves, steady on the conditioned calves. Feeder steers, bulls and heifers weighing over 500# were steady. There is a good many new crop calves starting to show up and they are a little cheaper than the conditioned cattle.
